SFC SWAT removed crocodilian intruder from fish pond

MIRI: The Swift Wildlife Action Team (SWAT) of Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) removed another crocodile at Kelulit, Bekenu near here on Dec 15, this time involving the capture of a 2.1-metre female croc from a fish pond.

“Our SWAT received a report from the fish pond owner on Dec 13 that a crocodile was seen lurking in his pond.

“Responding to the report, a team from SFC Miri was dispatched to the location yesterday (Dec 14). One unit of baited hook was set up to lure and capture the crocodile,” said SFC in a press release yesterday.

SFC pointed out that the croc took the bait this morning (Dec 15) and it was immediately pulled ashore, restrained and transferred to the Benaya Crocodile Farm.

“With this capture, SFC’s SWAT had removed two crocodiles from Bekenu this month,” SFC added.
