BPIEF Talent Show-Off invites members of the public to join

The Borneo Post International Education Fair (BPIEF) organiser are inviting members of the public, especially youths statewide to participate in the inaugural BPIEF Talent Show-Off to be held at Vivacity Megamall here from March 11 to 12 next year.

BPIEF Talent Show-Off, organised in conjunction with the 8th edition of the annual education fair next year as one of its main sideline activities aimed at providing opportunities for participants to perform before a wider audience.

“It is an excellent platform for participants to showcase their talents to general audience coming from far and wide during the two-day event, which can include dancing, cooking demonstration, martial arts and many more.

“For the first season of BPIEF Talent Show-Off, we are looking at over 250 participants from over 20 teams. Performances must be from amateurs and should not include professionals,” said BPIEF spokesperson Jude Toyat.

The organiser also hopes to promote a healthy lifestyle among participants and the larger community through the event.

“The performances will be evaluated based on several criteria which may include creativity, costume, choreography, stage presence and audience response, depending on the type of performance the participants are showcasing.”

The judges’ decision is final.

Submission of entries must be received no later than Jan 20, 2017 and registration is free.

The annual BPIEF is supported by the Sarawak State Education Department.

Other sideline activities will include Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank, Sarawak Nursing Professional Association Health Checks, Authentic Sarawak displaying locally made products such as beadwork, as well as lucky draws offering lots of exciting prizes to the winners.

The programme at Vivacity is also expected to attract 8,000 visitors mostly made up of youths and students who should also take the chance to examine their study options with the exhibitors at Vivacity’s event hall on Level 2.
