China’s ‘Avenue of Stars’ to brighten up Lunar New Year next year
KUCHING: The Malaysia-China Chinese New Year Night and Chinese Avenue of Stars Grand Concert to be held on January 21 next year will provide a great platform for bilateral trade between Malaysia and China.
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang said that apart from being a unique Chinese New Year celebration, it is also a mutually beneficial venture between government agencies in the entertainment industry between Malaysia and China and mark the start of an internationally entertainment industry with high exposure publicity, driving the two countries on a global platform.
“I am happy to note that the number of visitors from China venturing into Sarawak has been very encouraging. We are also very fortunate to have entrepreneurs from a country with a population of more than a billion people, venturing into Sarawak with only nearly 3 million of our total population.
“I would like so see more of such interaction of entrepreneurs, especially among the younger generation coming together. I am sure that there will be a lot to learn from big nations and successful entrepreneurs from other parts of the world that will then help Sarawak to become a more prosperous state in years to come,” said Lo during his speech at a press conference held recently.
He emphasised that Sarawak was chosen to be the venue for the mega concert for its richness of cultural resources.
“The richness of local cultural resources contribute in enhancing the tourism industry in the state, bringing people from China and other parts of the world to come here for a visit and be mesmerized with the distinctiveness of Sarawak,” he added.
China superstars who were winners of ‘Avenue of Stars’, a China Central Television (CCTV) singing competition who will be making their debut here include Yang Fan, Wang Xu, Luh Hai Tao, Hao Ya Qing, Wang Er Ni, Zhou Li Zhen, Liao Xiao Xian, Chen Shenguang and Yang Zi Yi.
The artists will be using their social media to show to their fans and people in China about the richness of Sarawak’s cultural resources. There will also be concert publicity through advertising at high speed rail train publications as well as thousands of media platforms in China.
Several experts and professionals in the entertainment industry and show business will also be collaborating to make the event a success and bring the exciting show to the Malaysian audience.
Lo congratulated the Beijing Aowei Media Group from China and DHCP Media Sdn Bhd from Kuching for coming together to organise the event.
“I also wish that there will be more of such events coming to Kuching in years to come to enhance the entertainment, tourism and business industries statewide,” added Lo.
During the press conference, four top Chinese models managed by Fashion TV sashayed the runway after they visited various places in Kuching for photo shoot sessions, as well as slideshow presentation to introduce the eight Chinese singer who will be coming for the mega concert.
Also present were Summer Mall managing director Dato Lee Chee Fui and PWP Properties chief executive officer Datuk Seri Charles Voon.
