AkzoNobel, I&P Group and UiTM enter Malaysia Book of Records with Longest Doodle Mural

KUALA LUMPUR: AkzoNobel, the leading global paints and coatings company and producer of Dulux together with I&P Group Sdn. Bhd. and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) enters Malaysia Book of Records with the Longest Doodle Mural at Alam Impian Garden.

Themed ‘Nature – Flora Fauna and Abstrak’, the three meter wide and 1,080 meters long jogging track art painting was a collaboration between Akzo Nobel Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, I&P Group and UiTM in conjunction with I&P Group’s 10th anniversary for its Alam Impian Township.

The collaboration marks the first time AkzoNobel teamed up with I&P Group and UiTM for such a meaningful project, in line with AkzoNobel’s commitment to help create more Human Cities around the world. Focused on public spaces, the company uses its three key strengths – essential ingredients, essential protection and essential colour – to energize local communities and make them more liveable and inspiring.

The initiative further builds a stronger sense of community equating to a more pleasant, vibrant and liveable space which makes Alam Impian the perfect township for the collaboration.

Dubbed as ‘Township of The Arts’, Alam Impian is the largest platform for arts featuring installation of art pieces, landscape and street art, graffiti wall, art gallery linear parks and a 31-acre central town park, aimed at having its residents to be more involved with art activities.

The joint effort saw more than 300 students and lecturers from UiTM taking part in a two-day painting project that took place from October 8-9, 2016.

Students and lecturers of UiTM were given six primary paint colours consisting of black, white, yellow, green, blue and red all from Dulux which allowed them to express their creativity through mixing and matching the primary colours on the jogging track.

The 5km ‘Fun Run Alam Impian 2016’ was held a week after the painting project was completed. The run saw around 1,500 runners and a total 2,000 visitors gathered for the run. Certificate of achievement were handed out to I&P Group by representatives from the Malaysia Book of Records before flag off of the fun run.
