Date of trial set for duo attempting to sell clouded leopard
MIRI: The two Bruneians apprehended recently for allegedly trying to sell an endangered clouded leopard online will stand trial on November 4-5 this year.
The first mention of the case was yesterday (Oct 20). The case was fixed for second mention on November 3.
According to a Sarawak Forestry Department (FDS) enforcement officer, the suspects will be further remanded until the date of the trial.
“Bail was not granted because they were both foreigners,” said the FDS officer via WhatsApp.
The suspects will be represented by defence counsel Jonathan Bedindang while Hishamudin Roslan will be prosecuting the case.
