Tan goes for a ‘Perfect Try’ with his new lyric video

Penangite singer- songwriter Tan Yan Peng – otherwise simply known as Tan – has unveiled a lyric video for his single ‘Perfect Try’.
It has been made available on YouTube since Aug 16 after it was featured on a New York based music blog Hit Addiction.
“The lyric video was dedicated to my good friend and also one of the co-writers of the song Beatrice Regner who passed away last year,” said Tan of the lyric video produced by Jason Valenti and his design team, who have also done lyric videos for Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Drake, Jessie J, Magic! and Chris Brown.
The track mastered by Grammy-winning master engineer Evren Goknar has won Tan the Honorable Mention in the Pop/Top 40 Category in the 2014 International Songwriting Competition (ISC). It was also selected in the Top 10 Pop/Rock song at the ASCAP EXPO 2014.
The ‘Perfect Try’ is one of the four tracks in Tan’s EP ‘A Summer to Remember’, besides ‘Heat Wave’, ‘If I Could Walk’ and ‘Tonight’.
The EP was released in 2014, written by Tan together with two of his songwriter friends Natania Lalwani and the late Beatrice. It was produced by two top producers namely Mario Marchetti and LightDrop.
“My song ‘Tonight’ was chosen to be featured on an Australian short film ‘Places’ which is set to be released at the end of this year,” he added.
Tan is also currently recording a song in collaboration with French songwriter and producer Fabian Faupel. Faupel is currently working under world renowned French DJ, record producer, remixer and songwriter David Guetta’s production team.
“I am also currently working on new materials for my next album,” he said. Currently he is in the process of writing and arranging material for the album while the recording process is expected to start early next year.
Apart from that, he was featured in the Music Connection Special Year End issue in the ‘Hot 100 Live Unsigned Artists & Bands’ section.
He was also one of the judges for the ‘Water Cube Cup’ singing competition in Penang, deemed to be one of the most challenging Chinese singing competitions for Chinese youth in China with The Association of Malaysia Chinese Artistes vice president Megan Gan.
