Malaysian rock band Akim & the Majistret will soon be coming out with a music video for their new single on the soundtrack to upcoming film ‘Bisik Pada Langit’ directed by Khabir Bhatia.

The song ‘Lygophobia’, which also means the fear of being in dark places, is the group’s first collaboration with the renowned film director.

“We are currently working with Khabir Bhatia on the ‘Bisik Pada Langit’ soundtrack, a film which will  be broadcast on Astro First in the near future,” confirmed Akim Ahmad when met here recently.

Akim & the Majistret wrote the song lyrics after the script was given to them a few months ago.

For Akim & the Majistret which consists of leader Akim and his six bandmates – Zimi, Fairuz, Wan, Gjie, Afiez, and Beby  – it was a privilege for them to be able to work on the collaboration with the renowned film director on their song.

“After a discussion among the band members, we agreed to take in the song as it is relatable to anyone from all walks of life,” Akim added of the song which relates the story of someone who is afraid of the dark.

He explained that ‘Lygophobia’  was a heavy track due to its musical arrangement which is slow in the beginning before it becomes heavier towards the end.

Khabir Bhatia is the founder of media and entertainment company Filmscape Sdn Bhd. He has directed several local telemovies, dramas and films including the award-winning ‘Nur Kasih The Movie’ where he was awarded the Best Director at Profima (Professional Film Workers Association of Malaysia) Awards in 2011.

Originally slated for a Sept 15 release, the movie is expected to be out in November.
