Sarawak Idol looking for multi-talented entertainers

A/dropcap]fter two days of auditioning, 31 hopefuls from the Kuching area were selected to compete in the inaugural Sarawak Idol singing competition to be held in Miri this December.
The next round of auditions will be held in Sibu’s Time2Strike Bowling Centre on Sept 24-29 from 10am till 6pm.
Organised by BetterLife Borneo Group together with venue sponsors Vivacity Megamall, the event was held to help find young talent from among the youth of Sarawak.
The organiser also believed that the event would not only produce great singers but cultivate great performers as well.
Altogether there were 40 participants registered for the audition which was held from Sept 15 till 16 at Vivacity Megamall.
The participants were not judged only by their singing skills but also their dancing, acting or hosting skills in order for them to be the next Sarawak Idol.
The 31 finalists from Kuching were Calstino Lanim, Khairul Huda, Fatin Nurfatihah Drahman, Othman Arfan Abdullah, Gilbert Annie, Felicia, Kelana Akira Abdullah, Mohd Nizamuddin, Mahideen Mohamad, Azami Kipli, Mohd Ikhwannur Sholahudin, Raphael Edward, Amal Ikhlas, Walter Medan, Nurul Syafiqqah Mohamad, Nur Hidayah Gani, Hairul Nizam Hasbi, Khairul Arifin, Azani bin Ini, Nurmaishara, Mohammad Amierul, Alessandro Dabai, Ferrando Edmond, Ahmad Nazri, Nur Amirah Darus, Nur Athirah Musyirah, Siti Ruhayu Man, Salleh Fadillah, Nursyafiyah Sejali, Philicia Poli and Belinzai Lai.
The professional jury of the Sarawak Idol Kuching leg was led the organising chairman of Sarawak Idol Bennet Sigat.
Other jury members included Bidayuh singer Carrie Geres, Iban singer Karen Libau and Anugerah Dayak Music (AMD) 2012 and 2014 winner Gabriel Fairuz Louis.
