KOTA SAMARAHAN: Ippla Sitem, 19, a first year student at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak living with disabilities (OKU), was glad to receive a wheelchair and furniture from a kind donor yesterday (July 29).
Specialising in design and manufacture of metal furniture, N-MO Sdn Bhd managing director Salleh Arif Obeng handed the said items over to UiTM Sarawak rector Prof Dato Dr Jamil Hamali in a ceremony held at UiTM Samarahan 2 campus here.
For Ippla, who is currently studying Diploma in Office Management and Technology, the motorised wheelchair will help him alot. He also received a study table, chair and a wardrobe to use at his hostel.
According to Salleh, the donation was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to help those in need in Sarawak, especially students at higher learning institutions.
“I hope that the UiTM Sarawak will accept our donation with an open heart as we are just here to help and enlighten their burden,” he said.
Dr Jamil said the donation was a very good gesture from the company and hopes to collaborate with more private entities in the near future.
“We really appreciate such noble effort, and we want to have more of such good collaboration,” he said.
