Voice contestant Christina Grimmie shot after Florida concert
Christina Grimmie, the contestant who got all four coaches to turn around for her rendition of ‘Wrecking Ball’ on season six of The Voice, died of her wounds after being shot in Florida today (June 11).
Orlando police said that a man opened fire on the 22-year-old when she was signing autographs after a Before You Exit concert in Orlando, Florida.
Her brother immediately tackled the suspect, during which the latter shot himself and was pronounced dead at the scene, reported BBC News.
Orlando police confirmed her death in a tweet that read: “With deep regret, we have confirmed Christina Grimmie, @TheRealGrimmie has died from her injuries.”
