Melissa Francis siblings Hairee and Angels launch ‘Bansaku Besatu’

Iban songbird Melissa Francis musically-inclined family has recently made another milestone in the local music industry with the launching of her siblings’ band Hairee and Angels latest album entitled ‘Bansaku Besatu’.

The second album from the band recorded by Platinum World Network Sdn Bhd and completed on March 30 this year was launched at CityONE Megamall here recently in run up to the Gawai Dayak festival.

According to band member Hairee, the album consists of ten songs with variety of music genre that fans can enjoy listening to including pop, rock and ballad, all written by the four siblings.

“We are very pleased with the encouraging response received from our fans over the years getting involved in the Iban music industry.

“As a token of appreciation, we have released this new album with amazing songs that I hope can satisfy their hunger of great music,” he said.

The band Hairee and Angels which was established in 2000 comprises of four members namely Hairee (lead guitarist), Rickee (bassist), Frankee (drummer) and Melissa as the keyboardist.

“My father spontaneously gave the band name when we first performed for corporate event in Labuan in 2000.

“We have always been dreaming of uniting people of all races and ages through our music,” he added.
Hairee pointed out that the development of Iban music industry today has been very encouraging.

“The Iban music industry has improved a lot especially in terms of music arrangement, mixing quality and music videos.

“We hope that we can always inspire people to continue making great music and be able to sustain the legacy of Iban music so that it will remain strong in the hearts of our fans,” he added.

On the band’s achievement, Hairee said that he who is the songwriter and composer for their songs ‘Mutus Ati and
‘Perening’ was awarded the Best Song (Mutus Ati) at the Anugerah Juara Lagu Rentak Ruai Cats FM (AJARR) in 2012 and Silver Award for Best Rock Song (Perening) at the Voice Independent Music Award (VIMA) in 2014.

Hairee added that Hairee and Angels who usually perform at clubs and corporate events throughout the state will hold a concert tour all over Sarawak in the near future.
