Trisdewi Trisno is Miss Cultural Harvest Festival 2016

“Commitment is the key to success in life and in achieving your dreams. Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly,” said 24-year-old Trisdewi Trisno after being crowned Miss Cultural Harvest Festival (MCHF) 2016 at the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) here on May 1.
Of Javanese and Chinese parentage, MCHF 2016 is her first foray into beauty pageantry, where she beat 12 other finalists for the coveted crown, walking away with a cash prize of RM3, 000.
“I never expected to win. Every participant delivered a spectacular performance throughout this competition and for me, everyone here is a winner,” said the former barista who loves to travel and play paintball.
Trisdewi, who has a Level 2 Certificate in Fashion and Design from the International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (ICats), and aspires to own her own café and become a model cited Dewi Liana Seriestha as her biggest influence in modelling and pageantry.
“I have always been following her progress ever since she entered Miss World Malaysia and knowing that she also entered the same beauty pageant I became motivated to follow in her footsteps,” said the Kuching lass who stands at 159cm and weighs 50kg, adding that her family and friends are her greatest supporters.
Other prizes received by Trisdewi included a trophy, bouquet of flowers, sash, Emilio Valentino wristwatch sponsored by Gateway Agency Sdn Bhd, scholarship to study in Diploma in Tourism Management at Segi College Sarawak, and complimentary stays and Riverside Majestic Hotel and Damai Beach Resort. She was also named the Miss Dzarea Congeniality CHF 2016 and received a cash prize of RM700, a sash, and plaque sponsored by Dzarea Beauty Sdn Bhd.
Coming in second at MCHF 2016 was 22-year-old Stephanie Elizabeth Lydia of mixed Iban, Chinese and Bidayuh parentage. The Bachelor of Business in Public Relation student from Swinburne University of Technology won the cash prize of RM2, 000, a sash, bouquet, Emilio Valentino wristwatch sponsored by Gateway Agency Sdn Bhd, and complimentary stays at Riverside Majestic Hotel and Damai Beach Resort.
Stephanie was also named Miss Fitness CHF 2016 and received cash prize of RM700, a sash, trophy, and bouquet sponsored by Sara Urusharta Sdn Bhd and second runner-up for Miss Talent WHF 2016 receiving cash prize of RM500, a sash and bouquet of flowers.
Meanwhile, Nurul Ashima Affendi, 23-year-old Malay lass from Kuching placed third and received a cash prize of RM1, 000, a trophy, a sash, bouquet of flowers, Emilio Valentino wristwatch sponsored by Gateway Agency Sdn Bhd, and complimentary stays at Riverside Majestic Hotel and Damai Beach Resort.
Nurul Ashima also bagged home the title of Miss Talent CHF 2016 and received cash prize of RM1, 000, a sash, bouquet of flowers, and complimentary stays at Grand Margherita Hotel.
As for other subsidiary titles, Miss Metrojaya CHF 2016 went to 22-year-old Malay girl from Kuching Nur Haziah Khadijah Mazalan. She received a cash prize of RM700, a sash and bouquet of flowers. She also received cash prize of RM200 by being named the Miss Popular Fitness Riverside.
Miss Beautiful Eyesight went to 24-year-old Morgan Christincey Baru. This eagle-eyed Lun Bawang won a RM700 cash prize, a sash, a trophy, and bouquet of flowers courtesy of Eyesight Optic Sdn. Bhd. Morgan was also named the Miss Photogenic CHF 2016 winning cash prize of RM700, a sash, a 16R portrait and bouquet of flowers sponsored by Piqasa Studio.
Meanwhile, Miss Dazzling Smile CHF 2016 went to 22-year-old Amanda Jane Simon of mixed Iban, Bidayuh and Chinese parentage. Hailing from Serian, she received a cash prize of RM700, a sash, and bouquet of flowers sponsored by Darra Beauty Zone (Zmile).
Other participants of MCHF 2016 namely Haziqah Hamdan, Kedung Ballang Kapung, Tangerine Malison Chaing, Priscilla Christopher, Darline Barie Albert, Emily Sara Chan, and Catherine Luweny Lof received cash prize of RM300, and Emilio Valentino wristwatch sponsored by Gateway Global Marketing.
The prizes were presented by Datin Gloria Gembong, wife of Tourism and Heritage Sarawak Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datu Ik Pahon Joyik. Also present were Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, Ik Pahon, and Sarawak Cultural Village SCV general manager Jane Lian Labang.
This year, the World Harvest Festival 2016 was held for three days and three nights with exciting activities included in the itinerary including the grand finale of Miss Cultural Harvest Festival 2016, live staging of ‘Dayang Bulan – The Moon Princess’, Ironman WHF 2016, Sarawak Ethnic Kitchen Culinary Challenge, Sape Concert and many more.
