20 fight for Miss Fitness subsidiary title

KUCHING: Twenty finalists vying for the Miss Fitness subsidiary title of the inaugural Miss Fit Star Sarawak (MFSS) sashayed down the runway at CityOne Megamall on April 10.
They were 19-year-old Hazmiena Zamri, Fitri Ashrina Elza (20), Hilnishalancie Saen (23), Steptanieaudrey John (22), Michelle Stevenson (21), Dayang Nurulfiza Awang Osman (27), Lidya Yusreena Abdul Ellias (21), Sopia Gelip (24), Jac Jossica Lu (26), Vivian Gabriel (23), Charlene Charmmy (21), Faynella Saing (23), Marie Alexandra Beatrice (21), Radenajwatul Akma Ahmad Sepian (19), Sharifah Munirah Wan Alamshah (22), Putri Nurbizauwatul Sapuan (24), Easter Jawai Paul (19), Farah Nadzirah Yahya (19), Ella Mohammad Hisyam (21), and Caroline Kueh (20).
Donned in clothes sponsored by Vintage Collection and Think Qalas Collection,
the contestants were judged by their stage presence, stamina during the fitness dance segment, catwalk, as well as their responses during the q&a segment by fitness trainer Vincent Alfred, Miss Universe Malaysia 2013 finalist Karissa Kara Simon, Mrs Sarawak 2015 Wendy Earnest, and fashion designer Christopher Anthony Ikus.
The winner will be announced at the grand final to be held at Sarawak Golf Club on May 28.
Other subsidiary titles for this competition include Miss Talent, Miss Best Evening Dress, Miss Body Beautiful, and Miss Congeniality. Each winner will receive sash, trophy and gifts.
MFSS 2016 is organised by Cammielye Golds Sdn Bhd and supported by CityONE Megamall, Scentiments Fragrance and Cosmetics, Emilio Valentino, Lentera Astana, HUNT2WO, Dayak Shutter, One Sight Printing, Snapper Motion, Jesz Jovnicc, Shasha, Geogery and De Stage Bridal & Spa.
It takes a different approach in beauty pageants in that it focuses on fitness and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
The finalists will undergo various rigorous fitness programmes such as weekly gym sessions, mountain climbing, running, zumba and dance classes prior to the grand finale.
To be crowned the winner, she must also achieve the highest percentage of weight loss throughout the competition, as she will go on to become an ambassador of a healthy lifestyle for Sarawak. It is a true celebration of a woman’s natural beauty, confidence and health.
Reservations for the grand final at Sarawak Golf Club are open, with each 10-person table going for RM1,000 or RM1,500 — according to their placement inside the hall.
