PPKS to host bootcamp for unemployed graduates
Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) will be hosting a 3-day 2-night Graduate Employability Boot Camp at PPKS main campus at Tabuan Jaya from March 22 to 24.
According to a press release, this program aims to improve fresh and unemployed graduates’ communication and soft skills through an intensive series of activities that have been specifically designed for the entire boot camp.
The activities include CV Tailoring, Grooming Etiquette, Interview Skills as well as Discussing the Impact and Effect of Social Media with inspirational speakers and industry practitioners.
Through this boot camp, participants will have the opportunity to garner a better grasp in cultivating their skills sets and augmenting the self-marketability as what is required by the industry today.
The camp also enables participants to experience the role-play workshops along with the real-life interview situations during the final day of this program.
Prospective employers ranging from various sectors like oil and gas, electrical and electronics, telecommunications, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as well as Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises or Entrepreneurship will conduct the interviews at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) for the participants then offer the successful candidates a placement.
Meanwhile, for those who do not make the cut, they will be channelled to Graduate Employability Management Scheme (GEMS) which is a combined classroom training funded by TalentCorp to enhance graduate employability with the aim to reduce talent shortages in the key areas of economy by 2020.
The exclusive boot camp is open to all Malaysian degree holders or final year semester students of not more than 27 years old.
