Crowdfunding event Sup4Good is calling for proposal submissions
Do you find yourself having awesome ideas that could greatly contribute to the community but lack in the financial department and support to execute it?
Those who find themselves in that position may be interested in submitting their proposals to Sup4Good by their March 25th, 2016 deadline.
Organised by local youth group, The Champions along with Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS), iCube Innovation and UCSI University Sarawak Campus, Sup4Good is a casual dinner for everyone aimed at crowd funding micro grants through public donations for creating and funding social projects to benefit our local community.
In Sup4Good, all guests donate RM10 where they will later listen to the proposals by four finalists. During the meal, guests will vote for the project they would like to see funded.
The project with most votes will win all the money contributed throughout the evening. In future, the winners will return to the event to share their progress and the response to the project.
The winner of the last Sup4Good event was Yong Li Na and her team who founded a job placement programme for youths in Bau which involved interviewing students, training and job placement.
Inspired by Detroit Soup, Sup4Good seeks to promote community-based development through an inclusive social platform dedicated to empower local initiatives and projects through community sourced micro grants and supporting them via established entrepreneurial and social-entrepreneurial organizations.
The micro-funding platform believes in giving individual who wants to give back to the community a kickstart to their projects.
Open for everyone from all walks of life, Sup4Good will be held on April 8th (Friday) from 7pm to 9pm at ChinaHouse @ Courthouse, Jalan Court House.
The entrance fee is a suggested donation of RM10 for a bowl of soup, bread or rice and a ballot.
