Form 5 students of Serian Public Secondary School (Class of 1979) hosted a reunion dinner on February 13, gathering some 80 classmates and schoolmates from near and far including Serian, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri and Kuala Lumpur.
Organising member Boniface Lasek said the occasion was made merrier with the presence of their former principal and teachers.
“Each and every one of us hugged each other as some have not met for 37 years.
“This included Gilbert Yong, a successful businessman who currently resides in Miri for the past 30 years that lighted up the event as emcee with his hilarious jokes and styles of emceeing,” he said, adding that the reunion was made possible through their Whatsapp group which enabled them to gather their friends.
To add more fun to the event, a karaoke session was also organised with many trying to put their best voice to the song of their choice.
“It really was a fun-filled reunion which ended with lucky draws offering prizes that include Blackberry smart phones donated by our members.”
Prior to that was a photo session with former teachers and students. During the event, we managed to share fond memories during our student days in Serian Public Secondary School.
