Some 42 car enthusiasts left their Perodua Vivas outside Harbourview Hotel on Jan 30 to attend the Viva Borneo Masquerade Annual Dinner 2016.

It was Viva Borneo Kuching Recreational Club’s first annual dinner after being formally registered last year July 28.

Members from other branches such as Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Sibu and Mukah also made their ways to the event.

All of the attendees put an effort to dress for the night according to the masquerade theme.

The night was spent feasting, socialising, giving away lucky draw prizes and karaoke singing.

Members from outside Kuching such as Sri Aman and Serian also drove in to show their support.

According to its spokesperson Kerry Edison, the club is aimed to provide a platform for all the users to exchange their knowledge and opinions on their rides.

“We usually hold an autoshow but tonight we just want to have fun and mingle around with all the members,” he said.

Kerry also pointed out that five of their active members had impaired hearing and the club is welcoming to all Perodua Viva owners.

Upholding their motto ‘With Viva We Unite’, the club is hoping to have closer relationships among its members in Sarawak as well as in Sabah.

Altogether they are about 500 members of Viva Borneo in Sarawak sharing their love and passion for this Malaysian made car.

The club also came together under a public group on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/189848094526319/.
