School leavers invited to Curtin Discovery Day January 30
MIRI: SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level and A-Level school leavers keen to find out more about studying at Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak), especially in its current February/March intake, are invited to attend the ‘Curtin Discovery Day’ event at its campus this 30 January, from 1 pm to 5 pm.
The university’s marketing officers will be available to counsel the students on courses, career pathways, scholarships and enrolment.
Admission is free and potential students are advised to bring along their actual or forecasted results for on-the-spot assessment and application purposes.
The event will commence with a sharing session entitled ‘What’s Engineering’ by Acting Dean of Curtin Sarawak’s Faculty of Engineering and Science, Associate Professor Ir. Lau Hieng Ho, from 1.30 to 2.30 pm, followed by another entitled ‘Introducing Business and Humanities – What are the options and where do they lead?’ by Dean of the Faculty of Business and Humanities, Professor Jonathan Winterton, from 2.30 to 3.30 pm.
The afternoon’s highlight will be a talk on ‘Finding Life’s Direction’ by Certified Life Coach Jasly Kong from 3.30 to 5.00 pm. She will help the students construct their personal roadmaps to career success by using the DISC Personality Profiling System, a self-discovery tool, and interactive and experiential activities to discover their personal goals.
Rrepresentatives of Curtin Sarawak’s Loans & Scholarships Office, PTPTN and Yayasan Sarawak will also be present to counsel students and their parents on financial aid available to students enrolling at the university.
Potential students with outstanding academic results should also take the opportunity to enquire about Curtin Sarawak’s Curtin Merit Scholarships open to school leavers with SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level and UEC qualifications for foundation and undergraduate studies at the university.
