Public invited forum on judiciary system Nov 24
KUCHING: People from all walks of life are invited to a talk on ‘Reforming the Malaysian Judiciary System’ to be held at M Hotel here tomorrow (Nov 24).
Renowned law academic Assoc Prof Dr Azmi Sharom of University Malaya will deliberate at the talk scheduled for 7.30pm.
Azmi will be discussing the role and importance of the judiciary in a democracy.
“In this context, he will examine how the way the judiciary is governed can have an important effect on the governance of the nation,” said a statement issued today.
Hosted by the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak Academic Staff Association (UASA), the talk aims to engage the public and to promote open discussion on topics of importance to the nation.
Towards this end, UASA hopes to broaden and deepen civil society activities in Sarawak.
Admission is free and Azmi’s talk will be in English.
However, places are limited and all interested are requested to come early.
