Residents in Kota Samarahan and its surroundings were well entertained during #CATSDAYOUT Volume 3, a special concert by Cats FM to celebrate the radio station’s 19th anniversary held at The Summer Shopping Mall on October 31.

The concert managed to draw 5, 000 people, who thronged the square outside the mall to catch the showcase of popular singers and bands.

It kicked off at 7.15pm with the introduction of hosts and personalities from CATSfm, DJ Adi and DJ Fuzz, before it continued with the first performance by Nading Rhapsody, who performed the band’s hits ‘Umbas’ and ‘Dunya Ransik’ which received thunderous applause and made the audience cheer and sing along. It continued with performances from Qierra, Nadhar, and Sima.

Next, petite singer Wani Kayrie warmed the stage by performing her rendition of Stacy’s ‘Gilalah’ and her latest song ‘Jangan Jangan’.

After that, Eyza Bahra appeared on stage to perform two of her popular songs, ‘Imaginasiku’ and ‘Cakerawala’.

Handsome singer and Cats FM radio announcer Adi Johar, wowed the audience with his performance of Sam Smith’s ‘Lay Me Down’.

Asyraf Hardy performed his famous tracks, ‘Semua Dalam Lagu’ and ‘Terpesona’ with the Sonar Instinct band.

Iban singer Ricky Andrewson made the fans dance along with his popular songs ‘Beri Pemutus Ati Nuan’ and ‘Tua Enda Setipak’.

Teen heart-throb Zah Amirul continue to entertain the crowd with his songs ‘Semua Ini Sama’ and his rendition of Peter Pan’s ‘Mungkin Nanti’.

Winner of the first season of Gegar Vaganza, Ayai Illusi then performed songs made popular by his former band entitled ‘Puisi Cinta’ and his rendition of Sweet Charity’s ‘Karmelia’.

Things got heated up as Awi Rafael came on stage later, entertaining the crowd with his popular numbers ‘Kalau Aku Kaya’, and ‘Manusia Sempurna’, a duet with Ayai. Awie also performed Coldplay’s ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’.

Vocal powerhouse and former Malaysian Idol winner Jaclyn Victor brought the house down with her heart-thumping song ‘Ikut Rentakku’, and her latest single ‘Seindah Mimpi’. Her energetic showmanship had the crowd on their feet and shouting the lyrics in excitement. The concert ended with Jaclyn singing ‘Sebelah Jiwaku’.

Prior to the concert in the evening, independent acts and homegrown bands also took the stage including Renzo Crew, Sullivan, Abang Hafidz, Maxwell Franklin Saran, Ayubee, and Aldrich Hevance in the afternoon.

Cats FM general manager Mohd Iskandar Mohd Nawawi also attended the concert, and speaking after the event, he said that he was very satisfied with the outcome of #CATSDAYOUT Volume 3 at Kota Samarahan.

“It is fantastic. We had the support from the crowd, good performances from the artistes and great technical crew.

“I do believe that we met the objective of #CATSDAYOUT Volume 3 because of the team work that was involved and tonight’s event was really an appreciation to our listeners who have been growing with CATS FM for the past 19 years.

“Tonight’s showcase is the beginning of many fun and musical events we will be organising in the run up to our 20th anniversary celebration next year,” he said.
