TCS celebrates 15th anniversary with Green Run
Technology College Sarawak (TCS) celebrated its 15th anniversary on October 10 by hosting its very first run.
The ‘TCS Green Run’ aimed at creating awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle among Malaysians is part of its series of initiatives to contribute back to the community and play an active role in fostering a healthy, positive and constantly developing society after 15 years of operation.
According to TCS chief executive Azri Nor Abdul Rahman, the run themed ‘Go Green’ also aimed to promote the #GoGreen and #GoHealthy hashtags which emphasize on the importance of maintaining the environment.
“Looking at the response from the public we might think to do this run annually,” he said, adding that the run had successfully attracted some 350 participants from various age groups and walks of life. “This is also to support Khairy Jamaluddin’s efforts and his programme, ‘Keep Fit Malaysia’.”
The run offered two categories – 2 kilometres and 5 kilometres open – down a route plotted along Jalan Sultan Tengah, Petra Jaya where TCS is located.
Those who completed the 5 kilometre run within the one hour time limit were given a TCS custom-made medal.
Organisers also provided breakfast and a photo booth for runners to commemorate their run as part of the after-run party.
TCS organised the Green Run in collaboration with Leema, Hitz FM Sarawak, Demak Motor, Kuching Rugby Football Club, Red Bull Malaysia, and Brooks Store.
