VIDEO: UNGU concert a treat for Sarawakian diehard fans

Thunderous applause was heard all over the CityONE Megamall on Sept 25 as members Indonesian pop-rock band UNGU appeared one by one on stage with its vocalist Pasha being the last one to appear as they performed their first number of the night, the ever popular ‘Hampa’.
UNGU heartthrob and vocalist Pasha managed to control the crowd, despite their screams of excitement before he continued to sing other popular songs including ‘Demi Waktu’, ‘Tercipta Untukku’, ‘Kekasih Gelapku’, and ended the show with ‘Berikan Aku Cinta’.
They also performed two singles from their latest album ‘Mozaik’ entitled ‘Aku Tahu’, and ‘Berteman Sepi’ a collaboration with Sabahan singer Stacy.
With rumours that this will be their last concert and that Pasha will be leaving the band, he assured the fans that UNGU will remain in the music industry although he will soon be actively involved in politics.
“More singles, albums and shows will be held in future and we promise to always deliver our very best for our fans. Thank you very much to our dearest fans for supporting us until now, and years to come,” he said.
After the showcase, fans were invited to come on stage for a meet-and-greet session, with members of the audience leaving the mall with smiles on their faces after having their merchandise signed and photographs taken.
Held in conjunction with the launch of their 12th album ‘Mozaik’ and the band’s 10th anniversary, UNGU’s Mozaik Tour 2015 was an experience of a lifetime for the crowd of 4,000 fans.
Local talent and a singer from reality TV show Mentor Legend 2014 Mal Imran, who is also a singer under the CQ Music label, delivered the opening performance with his latest single entitled ‘Cinta Sukar Ditafsirkan’ as well as two cover songs of Akim & The Majistret’s ‘Potret’ and Mojo’s ‘Dahsyat’.
Upcoming diva in music Wani Khairi appeared on stage next, looking eager to perform for her fans in Kuching with her single entitled ‘Jangan Jangan’.
Brought by Suria Records in collaboration with ERAfm, the tour started in Kuala Lumpur on September 23 at Mega Star Arena, Kuchai Lama before the band headed to Kuching for the showcase last Friday. After Kuching, the band continued their tour to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on September 27.
