There was a buzz of excitement over the new collection of abayas from the Hidaya International (Hidaya) show during it’s exclusive trunk show in East Malaysia.

According to Jamilah Shukri, managing director and owner of local boutique ‘Anggun Collection’, as Hidaya had just released their Wanderlust collection six months ago in Peninsular Malaysia, they were helping to promote Hidaya’s Wanderlust collection in Kuching.

Founder Toh Puan Sri Hidayah Wan Ismail conceived the fashion line while she was living in Abu Dhabi where she noticed women there were always dressed in abayas no matter where they go whether it is a casual outing or a formal evening function.

Discovering that it was far from being a restraining garment as is presently viewed in Malaysia and across the globe, she found the abaya far more versatile and felt a spark of a business opportunity.

In Kuching, a local association which focuses on activities and programmes for the youths, Persatuan Rakan Bestnye (RBS) was chosen to be the Glambassador for Hidaya.

Also present during the exclusive trunk show at Hilton was Datin Patinggi Datuk Jamilah Anu and sales and media Relations of Hidaya, Nora Muhammad.

For those interested to view the collection, contact Fiona Ross at +60126691500 to make an appointment or visit their showroom in 1-5 Ken Bangsar Condominiums, Jalan Kapas, Bangsar.
