Deejays and entertainers rock ‘Konsert Aktif 7’

Residents in Kota Samarahan and all over Kuching and nearby areas were well entertained during the ‘Konsert Aktif 7’ held at The Summer Shopping Mall on September 12.

About 10, 000 people flocked to the concert that kicked off at 8.30pm featuring a line-up of radio announcers from seven radio stations of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Angkasapuri including DJ Muaz and DJ Odey from NASIONALfm, DJ Mary from TRAXXfm, DJ Sonic from KLFM, DJ Ady from Radio Klasik, DJ Ravin from MINNALfm, DJ Pei Yin from AIfm, and DJ Linda from ASYIKfm, as well as those from RTM Kuching including DJ AJ and DJ Shaza from SARAWAKfm, DJ Jeff from REDfm, and DJ Felis from WAIfm before continuing with the performances from guest singers and bands.

The first performance featured Ally of the AXL band that performed two of its popular songs ‘Andai Dapat Ku Undur Masa’ and ‘Akulah Kekasihmu’ that made the audience cheer and sing along.

Next, handsome singer Mark Adam warmed the stage by performing two of his songs that are popular among the younger generation today, ‘Pencuri’ and ‘Marry Me’.

After that, the Sixth Sense appeared on stage to perform ‘7 Kali Malam Minggu’ and ‘Khatimah Cinta’. The stage was then warmed with the appearance of Queen of Dangdut Amelina through her immersive performances of ‘Rindu Ah Ah’ and her latest single entitled ‘Cinta Harus Seksi’.

Petite singer Najwa Latiff appeared on stage and performed her famous tracks, ‘Kosong’ and her latest song ‘Satu Hari Nanti’.

Being the pride of the people of Sarawak, Dayang Nurfaizah then appeared on stage and made the audience and fans shout out her name and show overwhelming support as she sang her award-winning song ‘Di Pintu Syurga’ and her latest song ‘Tak Pernah Menyerah’.

Kristal appeared on stage later on and being the last guest artist to perform, they managed to get the audience to stand up and jump evoking their rocking spirit through their songs ‘Persoalan’ and ‘Pasti Sempurna’.

During the concert, fellow radio announcers from RTM Kuching also presented special performances to enliven the concert which saw DJ Jeff, DJ AJ, DJ Shaza, and DJ Felis performing at their best through popular local songs, Andrewson Ngalai’s ‘Bekikis Bulu Betis’, Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’, and Inul Daratista’s ‘Goyang Inul’ that saw them dancing on the stage.

Ravin of MINNALfm and Odey of NASIONALfm performed a medley of Bollywood songs, while Odey of NASIONALfm, Sonic of KLfm and Ady of Radio Klasik performed Republik’s ‘Selimut Tetangga’. Odey, Ady and AJ of SARAWAKfm also collaborated with the Kristal with their performance of Sudirman’s ‘Warisan’.

Meanwhile, solo performances from the radio announcers include Mary of TRAXXfm who performed a powerful rendition of Jessie J’s ‘Flashlight’, Pei Yin of AIfm singing Saiful’s ‘Ku Juga Mencintaimu’ in a mixed version of Mandarin and Malay, while Linda of ASYIKfm gave an exhilarating performance of Cita Citata’s ‘Sakitnya Tuh Di Sini’.

‘Konsert Aktif 7’ ended with a closing performance from the line-up of popular singers and bands together with fellow radio announcers singing Faizal Tahir’s ‘Gemuruh’, and patriotic song titled ‘Sehati Sejiwa’.

The concert has been a major attraction especially for residents and students in Kota Samarahan as it was the first time such concert was held here at the ‘City of Knowledge’.

Among those present at the event include Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang, and Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Radio Programme Section director Dr Nawiyah Che Lah.
