Final year Diploma in Hotel Management of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Samarahan students recently went on an educational trip to Adis Buan Resort at Kampung Segong, Bau as part of their Hotel Event Management course.

The twenty three participants in the ‘Eco Explore Race 2015’ from UiTM-affiliated learning institutions including UNITAR and SATT College also got to fulfill several learning objectives, including having fun outdoors and enjoying nature.

The highlights of the trip included fun activities like the tyre jump and tree climbing, team-building activities and river activities such as rafting.

Mercy Jane Watt Gerunsin, 20, a student from SATT College said that the camp was an enjoyable and memorable experience for her.

“Throughout the camp, the spirit of team work is very strong and from what I see, the unity among each other’s culture is something to be proud of.”

She also shared that the camp had equipped her with a lot of hands-on experiences that she could apply in the working world.

For Muhd Khairul Azraff Rose Asman, 18, a Sabahan student of UiTM Samarahan, not only did the camp teach him how to have fun in nature but also how important it was to stay active.

“I like how during this camp, all differences were put aside and all we wanted was to have fun. I would definitely encourage more events like this,” said Khairul.

It is hoped that through this camp, besides promoting having fun in nature, more opportunities can be created for them to organise such events and maybe include more extreme games in future.
