Star Cineplex screens trailer for Kuching-based ‘Prodigal Son’

STAR CINEPLEX SCREENED THE official trailer of an upcoming new local movie called ‘The Prodigal Son’ on June 25.

Directed by Bjarne Wong, whose previous work includes Possessed (2006) and Sayang You Can Dance (2009), the movie about four best friends brought together by fate touches on issues of drug and alcohol abuse among today’s younger generation.

“This educational movie also focuses on the love and relationship between people including friends and family members,” he said when met by the media.

The movie cast includes Tan Hau Yan, Zac, Smyth Wong, Lai Meng, Lim Ching Miau, Cindy Chen, Rabbit Chen, Lynn Lim, Samuel Ngu, and Ashley Foo.

Filming on the movie began in November last year and is expected to be completed next month.

“There will also be a premier screening of The Prodigal Son and further details on that will be announced soon,” he added.

Digital cameras were used for this movie throughout several venues located around the city.

“I also wish to introduce Kuching city to viewers via this movie,” he added.
