Leema awards high-achieving student full scholarship at TCS
KUCHING: Hard work paid off for top student Seraphina Norman when she was awarded a full scholarship by Leema to do her Bachelor of Management (Technology) at Technology College Sarawak (TCS) on June 16.
Seraphina obtained CGPA 3.58 in her Diploma in Management Technology at the college that awarded her with a RM36, 000 scholarship. She was TCS’ best diploma student in 2014 and will then continue her studies in the bachelor degree programme for three years.
Leema chief executive officer Amin Aznizan said that he was delighted to be able to offer the scholarship to Seraphina.
“This is the first time we have awarded a scholarship, and I am honoured to be given this opportunity to contribute back to the younger generation through education,” he said.
Leema, a local soft drink brand, has been actively contributing to the growth of the local music industry in Kuching, and this scholarship is seen as its first step towards going beyond the music industry.
Meanwhile, TCS finance director Eddy Tay, who personally awarded the scholarship letter and agreement to Seraphina was thankful for the contribution made by Leema.
“We are grateful that private companies such as Leema are providing education opportunities to students in the form of scholarships.
“We hope that this trend continues and grows, because it will greatly benefit our society by making education more accessible,” he added.
