AFTER CAREFUL STUDY OF both students and local industry needs, Technology College Sarawak (TCS) signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the University Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) to deliver two of its programmes at TCS on June 10.
This August, TCS will be launching its BBA (Hons) in Islamic Finance and BBA (Hons) in Management and Entrepreneurship and already has 200 students enrolled.
TCS chief executive Azri Nor Abdul Rahman, hopes the new programmes will help ensure not only the employment of TCS graduates, but the creation of employment opportunities.
“With an annual industry growth rate of 20 per cent, there is huge demand for human capital in the Islamic finance industry. Strong growth and high confidence in the industry promises employment for graduates of BBA (Hons) in Islamic Finance.
“Meanwhile, the BBS (Hons) in Management and Entrepreneurship would ensure that TCS produces more entrepreneurs in both Sabah and Sarawak, which would mean the creation of job opportunities in the states,” he said at a press conference held at TCS on June 10.
This is in line with TCS’ mission of grooming graduates who contribute positively to both the global and local communities by providing employment.
The signing of the MoA between TCS chief executive Azri Nor Abdul Rahman and UniKL president Professor Dato’ Dr Mazliham Su’ud was witnessed by UniKL chairman Datuk Dr Adham Baba and TCS Board of Directors.
Besides these two programmes, TCS is already offering Foundation in Business, Diploma in Management Technology, Diploma in Management Technology (Accounting), Diploma in Computer Science (Information Technology), Bachelor of Management (Technology), and BBT (Hons) in Computer Entrepreneurial Management with a student population of 1,400.
