Astro to debut its first interactive UPSR revision drama series

IMAGINE IF YOU WERE STRUCK by amnesia but still had to sit for your exams…For Hud, the star of Astro’s upcoming drama series GENG UPSR, the Primary 6 student who lost his memories will have to depend on his schoolmates who put their differences aside to ensure he is prepared as UPSR exam dates loom closer.
“GENG UPSR is the first interactive UPSR revision drama series in Malaysia that help students to revise various topics within the 30-minute programme,” said Astro Tutor TV UPSR assistant vice president Loo Fui Lin in a press statement. “It encourages group study to facilitate learning that also enhances social skills.”
Through GENG UPSR that will be aired every Friday at 4pm on Astro Tutor TV UPSR (Channel 601) after its June 12 debut. Students will be able to follow the hilarious antics of the students in their journey towards UPSR, while learning, interacting and being entertained.
“As viewers follow the journey of Hud and his classmates towards UPSR, they will revise various UPSR topics and subjects.
“These lessons are integrated with the storyline to make learning fun and engaging,” she said.
The cast members include Sheikh Baseer, Wafiy, Elyn Leong, Danish Zakwan, and Rafael El Arash. They will be joined by Daiyan Trisha, Ewal and Qistina Raisah. There will also be special appearances from Datuk Aznil Haji Nawawi and Altimet in the series.
In addition to the series, this 10-episode UPSR revision drama is complemented by i-Tutor, a companion app that enables live interactive learning while watching the TV programme.
This second screen experience enhances learning through graphical revision notes and put the students’ understanding to test with various quizzes on key UPSR subjects, namely Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mathematics and Science.
i-Tutor will also be accessible via PC, laptop, mobile phone or tablet. The free-to-download Android and iOS version will be available on June 1.
Meanwhile, students who participate in the weekly quizzes while watching GENG UPSR also stand to win attractive prizes, including iPad Mini 3. They can participate in the quizzes via i-Tutor or log on to i-tutor.my.
Students can also experience the learning through on ground activity, GENG UPSR Challenge, where they must work as a team to solve live puzzles of UPSR related questions and ultimately escape the secret rooms.
