It was an evening of entertainment for a good cause as hundreds of Kuchingites came together last Sunday for the ‘Makan Malam Amal Mahabbah’ (MMAM) held at Dewan Kompleks Islam Sarawak.

The dinner was organised by Aurais Enterprise and initiated by its manager Ainollutfi Nono as part of their social responsibility programme to raise funds to help the less fortunate in Sarawak and also to encourage the act of charity.

Part of the sales proceeds will be handed over to Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Pendidikan Nur Murni (PKPNM), a private charitable home here in Kuching.

“Therefore, I wish to congratulate Ainollutfi and his team for having the praiseworthy intention of organising this event. I can say that it is very successful, and I hope that the practice of noble values and a very good initiative such as this will be a good example especially among the younger generation,” said Minister of Welfare, Women and Family Development Datuk Fatimah Abdullah, who officiated the event.

Lots of interesting activities made up the evening’s programme, including live performance from Malaysian singer Hafiz Suip, Afif Tenor, nasyid group Remaja Harapan, and Asbun Percussion.

The event which saw Fir Affandi and Dayang Nurulfiza as emcees was further enlivened by a ‘khatt’ (Arabic calligraphy) demonstration, Muslimah fashion show from Butik Almas and lucky draws which ended at 11pm.

Prior to the dinner, on March 21 to 29, the organiser had also organised promotional activities to promote the MMAM. These include nasyid and theatre performances, superbikes shows, tazkirah and zikr sessions, as well as sales and exhibitions at the foyer of the complex’s supermarket.

Apart from that, on March 14, they had also organised a busking session which featured local busking group Brother Ji among other local artistes held at Kuching Waterfront.
