Christmas favourites at Raintree Restaurant
SETTING THE MOOD FOR the Christmas season, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) will be offering festive buffets from Dec 21 to 26 and on New Year’s Eve at its Raintree Restaurant.
This year, the restaurant is showcasing an abundant choice of traditional Christmas fare, promising wide and varied selection of appetizers, mains, meats and desserts.
Perennial favourites such as the traditional roast turkey with cranberry sauce, seafood on ice comprising half-shelled scallops, black mussels and boiled prawns and salmon gravlax will form part of the staples throughout this festive promotion.
For appetizers, indulge in poached salmon with lemon and herbs or with cucumber dill, holiday crab cakes with crème fraiche and smoked salmon, and marinated mussels make a great start to the celebration.
Continue your gastronomic adventure with main courses such as turkey roulade with cranberry compote, grilled beef pepper and rosemary sauce, spicy lamb goulash, a variety of seafood pasta, roast duck with orange sauce, braised BBQ ribs with mashed potatoes, shepherd’s pie and more.
Allow the Raintree Restaurant culinary team led by Chef de Cuisine Virginia Kedit to bring you to Morocco with their hearty Morrocan lamb stew.
Drop by the carving station to get roast leg of lamb or beef, salmon culibiac and beef wellington with Yorkshire pudding.
Fancy something grilled? The menu gets bigger and better on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve with the addition of grilled items like marinated minute steak, garlic lamb cutlets and flower crabs.
To end a satisfying dinner, have a dessert or more with the highly recommended chocolate fountain, and Christmas cookies, apple cinnamon crumble with vanilla sauce, ginger mousse in class Christmas pudding and crepe suzette.
The best part of this buffet dinner is some cuisine such as Tuna Nicoise Salad, roasted eggplant with crispy pita chips, shrimp cocktail salad and baked chicken with braised red pepper and thyme are perfectly arranged in bite-sized portion so that your tummy will always place for more.

1. Pre-purchase dining vouchers and make prior reservations. It is first come, first served basis.
2. Pre-purchase dining vouchers and walk in with vouchers without making reservation. It is subject to seat availability.
3. Walk in and purchase dining vouchers at the Raintree Restaurant and dine. This is also subject to seat availability.

BCCK gives one of the most competitive prices for its buffet dinner with RM79 nett per adult and RM30 nett per child between five and twelve years of age throughout this entre festive promotion. Children below five dine for free.
Grab some Christmas Takeaway Goodies from Raintree Restaurant be it Christmas cookies, pastries and chocolates, roast beef (approximately 2kg) for RM250 nett, roast lamb leg (approximately 2kg) for RM230 nett and whole roast turkey (approximately 6kg) for RM480 nett.
The roast meats are available from Dec 16 to 31. Two days advance bookings are required.
For the buffet dinner, dining time is between 6pm and 10pm whilst Christmas Day brunch will be served from 11.30am to 3pm.
