Marvel releases dark ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ teaser
The sequel about the team made up of Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow now has its first teaser-trailer.
In “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the Marvel superhero team goes up against the robotic supervillain Ultron and his army set on destroying the human race. A few new characters will join the adventures, namely Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
But while the circumstances call for unity, the tensions seen between the Avengers in the first movie remain. In the trailer, we see Iron Man in his “Hulkbuster” armor facing off with the green giant, while Thor grabs Tony Stark by the throat.
Originally due for release next week, the teaser was published by Marvel on Wednesday evening after a leaked copy began to circulate online. To accompany the new video, the studio also shared a new poster for the sequel.
Joss Whedon has returned to the director’s chair for “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” which once again features Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton/Hawkeye) and Cobie Smulders (Agent Maria Hill). The cast also includes the newcomers Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver), James Spader (Ultron), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch) and Andy Serkis (Ulysses Klaw).
“The Avengers: Age of Ultron” opens in US theaters on May 1, 2015.
