Comic book fans have marked their calendars for October 24: the premiere date of the much-anticipated NBC series ‘Constantine’. The first poster and trailers are now available online.

Twitter is abuzz following the release of new promotional materials for the new NBC series ‘Constantine’ adapted from the ‘Hellblazer’ series from DC Comics and its Vertigo imprint.

An exorcist and a demon hunter, John Constantine uses his knowledge of the occult sciences to fight evil. Cynical, unfriendly and tortured, Constantine is a dark yet somehow endearing antihero.

In the series, the title role is held by Matt Ryan, seen in ‘Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior’. The paranormal investigator is seconded by Manny (Harold Perrineau of ‘Lost’), his morally ambiguous guardian angel.

Multiple video previews have been released on social networks, along with the official poster, which is illustrated in a nod to the original comics. The series premieres October 24 on NBC. -AFP/Relaxnews
