Make inner city travel easy with Easy Taxi app
Easy Taxi, the world’s largest taxi-booking app that connects taxi drivers with passengers with just a tap of button is now available here in Kuching.
“After receiving overwhelming response in Kuala Lumpur and Johor since 2013, we are excited to introduce a modern and convenient taxi service to both residents and visitors of Kuching,” Kuching City Manager of Easy Taxi Carol Yong said during the press conference held at Mayor Office, Kuching City South Council (MBKS) today.
Kuching residents may now enjoy the convenience of metered taxi rides via the Easy Taxi app which can help to ensure passengers will not need to haggle about the fare, and will have peace of mind that the price of the ride is fair.
“The concept is simple, with just a few clicks on a smartphone, customers can tell the taxi where they are and how they want to pay. The message is received by the pool of taxi drivers in the area and they can accept the job and drive straight to a customer’s door in a matter of minutes.” Yong added.
The driver gets information about the passenger who is registered and the passenger knows what the driver looks like, the model and registration details of the car as well as their mobile number.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the launch of Easy Taxi in Kuching, passengers will be able to enjoy RM20 discounted rides both to and from the annual Kuching Festival that will be happening from 1st to 24th August 2014.
First time users will need to download the Easy Taxi app which is available for iOS, Android, and Windows phone devices for free, and to redeem the promotion, they will need to key “Kuching Festival” into the “Address” or “Destination” fields, and enter the promo code of “#KF2014” into the “Landmark” field.
Visitors to the festival will no longer have to worry about traffic or the hassle of finding a parking spot and they can fully enjoy what the festival has to offer.
The app can also be used in over 162 cities in 32 different countries worldwide, including Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Seoul, and it also supports 11 languages including Chinese, Malay, Arabic and Korean.
