Jom Makan at Imperial Hotel
CLOSE TO THE TIME for breaking fast, deciding where to eat can be a stressful and confusing thing to do. Where, what and who to eat with.
While some might prefer classic food to break fast with such as bubur lambuk, others might prefer alternatives such as Western or Japanese food for dinner. In the end, not knowing what to decide on, you might just head on to the nearest food stall you went to yesterday and end up eating the same thing you had the previous day.
In the midst of this fasting month of July, why not head on to garden–themed Imperial Garden Restaurant for their Jom Makan Buffet Dinner where various options of cuisines ranging from traditional and regional specialties as well as international and Asian favourites are served.
For starters, it would not officially be breaking fast if diners do not try the local favourites such as the chef’s mouth watering and flavoursome Bubur Pedas (ground rice with the chef’s secret recipe) as well as Bubur Lambuk (beef porridge with spices and vegetables); sup ekor lembu; Dhalca ayam; steam fish fillet Teo Chew style and Udang Oat Butter.
Not only that, you can enjoy the aromatic smells wafting through the buffet stations. You can enjoy the marinated turmeric chicken (which I may add, had a hint of rosemary); peppery minute beef; lemongrass squid and garlic marinated crabs at the grill station.
On various days, they will also be serving Stingray with Air Assam (tamarind juice), Steamed Whole Fish with Spicy Thai Sauce or Baked Snapper with Indonesia Sauce.
Aside from that, visitors may also like to try some succulent dishes at the Action Carving Station, where a whole roasted lamb with briyani rice or ‘Mujaddara’ Arabic Rice along with special handmade condiments and sauces are served.
For some, the dishes served may be a bit too meaty or hearty, but no worries as diners who prefer something light may opt to add-on appetizing sides from the Cold Dish counter such as umai ikan (fish), umai udang (prawns); kerabu paku pakis; Gado-Gado and more.
Finally, it would not be a complete meal without dessert. I strongly recommend trying the bite-sized almond tarts, chocolate cupcake topped with swirly icing (not only do they look pretty, they also taste devilishly good in your mouth) and the melt-in-your-mouth Mango Mousse. On top of that, do not miss on trying the refreshing ABC (ais batu kacang), assorted cakes such as Toffee Éclair, Tiramisu, Mango Cheese cake and more.
The Imperial Garden restaurant is offering an Early Bird Special for the Jom Makan Buffet Dinner, for a buffet of 10 pax, guests will enjoy a ‘Dine 10, Pay 7’ deal, where guests will only have to pay for 7 persons. The booking period for this Early Bird Special is until July 4th and vouchers are valid until July 27th.
During this fasting month, special room packages are also available where superior (single/twin) and deluxe rooms (single/twin) are priced at RM175 nett and RM205 nett per room per night (inclusive of breakfast for 2) respectively which is valid for a two-night stay.
In addition to this, guests may enjoy up to 50% discounts at selected outlets in Boulevard Shopping Mall, upon presentation of key cards.
