THE SMELL of fresh baked dough lingered deliciously throughout Concourse B at Borneo Convention Center Kuching (BCCK) when UCSI University’s Next Big Chef Superstar Contest was held around 2pm on Mar 22.

When most kids couldn’t be bothered to cook anything other than instant noodles, there we had 12 teenagers rolling pizza dough and tossing salads to win the title.

INTENSE: It was an intense one hour of cooking when six teams contested in the competition.

The six teams were previous winners of Iron Chef, Black Box Cooking Competition and Next Big Chef (NBC) invited by UCSI to compete again to earn the title ‘Superstar’.

Given only an hour, the contestants were required to prepare a pizza as for main course and salad as side course.
