KUCHING: Kuching Life Care Society would like to invite the public to watch a local Chinese movie entitled ‘These Few People’ which will be showcased on Jan 18 and 19 at Auditorium Kompleks Belia dan Sukan Negeri Sarawak.
The tickets are priced at RM50 and every purchaser will receive a DVD of the movie as a token.
The movie ‘These Few People’ will feature a senior actor from Singapore, Alvin Giam, who is also the director of the movie, and comedian Henry Thia.
The money collected through ticket sales will help the society build the Palliative Center for patients with fatal incurable diseases and terminally ill patients where they will be provided medical, counseling and religious support besides helping patients live on in peace and dignity.
The society also organised blood donation programme and organ donation registration here at Plaza Merdeka recently.
Approximately 30 donors among the public came and donated their blood for a good cause.
The blood donations will be handed over to Sarawak General Hospital’s (SGH) blood bank to maintain their blood supplies.
The fact that the blood bank here in SGH can always use more blood as it is difficult to create and sustain a consistent blood supply all year round.
Public donation drives, organized by NGOs such as Kuching Life Care Society, are literally life-savers.
The blood donation programme will be carried on every 3rd Sunday of every month at various locations, and the public is encouraged to come and play their part as a drop of blood could save a life.
