Zumbathon charity event in The Hills
By Danielle Ringgit
KUCHING: If you love cats, The Hills Shopping Mall is proud to host Kuching’s first ever zumbathon charity event of 2013 to raising funds and awareness of strays cats to benefit Save Our Strays (SOS) Kuching on Dec 15 from 3 to 5 pm.
Seven talented Zumba instructors from Kuching will be conducting a 90-minute Zumbathon led by Ding Tiew Seoh, or fondly known as ‘Dingy’.
Dingy, the chairperson of this event said that she first started this charitable cause when she rescued a stray puppy.
Not knowing who to call, she asked help from Delia Su, one of the representatives from SOS Kuching to help her take care of the puppy.
Now a happy and healthy puppy, Dingy wanted to repay Su’s kindness by raising funds and awareness for SOS Kuching.
All are invited to join in and dance to the high energy and easy-to-follow choreography of various dance genres such as salsa, meringue, cumbia, pop, reggaeton and latin hip hop.
So participants can expect a total effective body workout that is both fun and exciting. According to Dingy, one zumba session can burn off 800 to 1000 calories.
Participants are advised to wear comfortable shoes and proper attire for the event and also to show up early to the venue with their tickets.
They aim to recruit 200 participants for the event. Tickets can be acquired in advance at RM30 from Gym Box (tel: 082-424886) and Exhilirate Fitness Studio (tel: 011-1521-1108) or at the door of the event itself for RM40 upon availability.
The organisers would also like to express their gratitude toward Hills Shopping Mall Management, The Gym Box, Benta Mewah Sdn. Bhd. and DPI printing as their main sponsors.
They would also like to sincerely thank Exhilirates Fitness Studio, Kim Bay Hong Kong-Macau restaurant and other sponsor as well as the participants for their generous support and contributions.
