Yong’s artwork to be commemorated in postcards across Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Institute of Art successfully organised an art exhibition and postcard launching featuring the original work of Prof Dato’ Dr Wilson Yong Tung Yung at the Sabah Art Gallery last Nov 23, 2013.

 

It was officiated by Sabah Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun. The event was attended and witnessed by various active art societies such as Gabungan Persatuan Seni SeMalaysia, Sabah Visual Art Association, Sabah Tea Association, Federation of Chinese Association to name a few.

 

Yong donated a painting to Sabah Art Gallery selected by the gallery curator and manager Jennifer Linggi to be added to the gallery collection.

 

All paintings and sketches will be exhibited in the gallery and will be open for public viewing for two weeks until the Dec 10, 2013.

 

Most artwork displays the natural beauty and cityscapes of Sabah. The postcards feature 17 designs of Sabah iconic attractions selected from the 50 or more masterpieces produced. The first batch released will be made available to all local souvenirs outlets.
