Get ready for the real Monster Dash!

KUCHING: Monster Dash Charity Run (MDCR) will be held on Oct 26 to raise funds for the Sarawak Children ‘s Cancer Society and The Society for Critically Sick Kids.
What’s going to set MDCR apart from other runs is its Halloween-theme! With Halloween around the corner, the fun-run will also feature zombies and monsters to ‘scare’ the participants on the run.
According to Datuk Patrick Liew, the chairman of OurYouth.my, MDCR was organised by popular request to initiate and organise more leisure run activities.
He said that the run was aimed to create social awareness, especially amongst the youth and general public, on different diseases and also to promote a caring and charitable community.
The run is open to all regardless of age: Youths and members of public to come with family members and friends to join the run.
It is a five-kilometer run around the city centre starting and finishing at Le’ Park located behind the Kuching Civic Centre. The flag off will be at 7pm.
You can register online at www.monsterdashcharityrun.com or forms can be obtained at Sarawak Sport Council at Kuching Civic Centre. The registration fee is RM35.
The closing date is Oct 11 but the organiser will still accept walk-in registrations on that day. They will be receiving T-shirts and other goodies while stock last.
OurYouth.my is a non-government organisation dedicated to organising healthy activities for the general public especially for the youths.
Apart from that, their mission is to promote sports, recreational. healthy lifestyle and also installing more moral value amongst the youth through various activities.
