Curtin University Sarawak’s Open Day to include public talks
MIRI: Curtin University Sarawak’s Open Day 2013 on Saturday will include a series of public talks.
They will be conducted by senior Curtin academics, including from the Curtin Sarawak Research Institute (CSRI), as well as other invited speakers.
At 10am, there will be an introduction to Curtin Sarawak’s Foundation, Diploma and Intensive English Programme (IEP) courses in the new 400-seat auditorium.
This will be followed by a talk entitled ‘Rocket Science and Strategic Decision Making: Examples and Personal Experiences’ from 10.40am to 11.20am by CSRI professorial fellow Professor Goh Bean San, whose research interests include applied mathematics and applications to optimal rocket trajectories, optimal control of autonomous underwater vehicles and management of green turtles.
Shell UIA recruitment team leader James Lee will speak on ‘Shell in Malaysia’ from 11.20am to 12pm.
At 1.30pm, there will ‘Transforming Yourself Through Curtin’. ‘Levelling Up’, ‘Accounting Beyond Number Crunching” and ‘Starting Your Career in Engineering’.
Information on scholarships and loans as well as the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN) will be available from PTPTN, Yayasan Sarawak and Mara.
