Conference on `Materials Technologies for Asset Sustainability’ tomorrow
MIRI: The 2nd International Materials Science-cum-4th Regional Materials Technology Conference themed `Materials Technologies for Asset Sustainability’ will be held at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club here tomorrow.
It is organised by Institute of Materials Malaysia (MM), Miri Chapter and Institute of Materials Science (IMS) Committee and supported by the Institution of Engineers (IEM), Miri branch and Curtin University – Sarawak Campus.
The symposium and conference will discuss applications of materials technologies, as well as reflect the innumerable aspects of materials research and development with the IMM and IMS fraternity.
Industry experts and academic researchers will present papers on materials and corrosion engineering, welding technology and inspection techniques.
The speakers will include representatives from Curtin Sarawak, University of Nottingham Malaysia, Malaysia Nuclear Agency, Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia, Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Operations), Sarawak Shell Bhd, Stork Technical Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd, TNB Research Sdn Bhd, Control Corrosion Sdn Bhd, Netek IR System A/S, 1Norimax Sdn Bhd and Solvay Singapore.
Miri IMM chairman Dr Edwin Jong Nyon Tchan and members including Curtin Sarawak’s Dean of Teaching and Learning, Associate Professor Dr Beena Giridharan are heading the organising committee.
